What Is Exciting Me About WWE At The Moment...

Wadduppp guys,

I haven’t posted anything for a while so I just thought I would put up a random post about the few things that are keeping me into and excited with WWE at the moment.

Firstly, I have to start with SummerSlam, which is pretty obvious as it is the second biggest PPV of the year and there usually is excitement around this time of the wrestling year but what’s really making me so excited for it, is the card - it is absolutely STACKED and has the potential of being the best PPV this year. From Cena Vs Lesnar, to Rollins Vs Ambrose, to Miz vs Ziggler to Paige Vs Aj Lee – the card is STRONG. A lot stronger than last years. I have extremely high expectations of this PPV (as I’m sure the majority of WWE fans do), and am expecting every single match to deliver. Will they all deliver though? That’s the main question. I really hope they do and we the fans get what we want, by being entertained yet at the same time are presented with some incredible wrestling. I mean, despite it being an entertainment based product, it still is professional wrestling, right?

So, I am VERY excited for this, but I’m also looking forward to the go-home show for SummerSlam. Raw this Monday seems like it will be a good one; Hulk Hogan has already been announced and there’ll be a birthday celebration for him, alongside this there have been a lot of rumors about an NwO reunion on Raw as well, if this is indeed true, then this episode alone for that will be amazing! They need one final big build to a couple of the matches, especially after this past week’s filler episode, of simply promoting the WWE Network. By the way, incase you didn’t already know – IT’S ONLY 9.99.

I’ll have a full post up next week about my SummerSlam predictions and I’ll go more in depth about all of the matches so stay tuned for that!

Another aspect of WWE I’m really into right now is, NXT. I know a lot of WWE fans don’t know what NXT is or keep up with it, so here is a brief history lesson for those of you who don’t know. It is the developmental branch of WWE where all wrestlers will go before they can come up to the main roster. They have their own shows/titles and it has over time, you could say, become it’s own brand.
There are some great talents down there, my favorite being Sami Zayn. Also, the divas in NXT and the matches from them are a lot better than what you see up on the main roster.
If any of you are curious to see why exactly I love NXT so much – check out NXT Arrival and NXT Takeover (all on the WWE Network for just 9.99 of course!!!). A third special called NXT Takeover 2 will take place on September 11th – I’m really looking forward to that.

A lot of the matches on NXT are sometimes BETTER than what you see on Raw or Smackdown, which is really saying something. Recently, WWE signed two incredible independent wrestlers to NXT – Prince Devitt and Kenta. Both of these guys have travelled the world, wrestled all over the place for various different promotions, including New Japan Pro Wrestling. YouTube some of their matches and you’ll see exactly why I’m so excited for these two. Down below I’ve put a video of the highlights of a match between Kenta & Tyler Black (now known as Seth Rollins) in Ring Of Honor. Amazing. For those of you who don’t know, CM Punk’s GTS and Daniel Bryan’s running knee all come from Kenta, which is amazing in itself and shows just a fraction of the things he is capable of.

Kenta is a Japanese wrestler, whilst Prince Devitt is from Ireland. I love seeing a diverse group of wrestlers in WWE and NXT. I cannot wait till both of these guys debut on NXT, ill be hooked even more to it, and also when they finally debut on the main roster, hopefully; it’ll be a great moment.

Overall with the amount of amazing young talent coming up, from: Cesaro/Reigns/Ambrose/Rollins/Wyatt/Harper, to all of the guys down in NXT, the future seems VERY bright and it’s these guys and girls that are really keeping me hooked at the moment. I do think it’ll be a good couple of years before there is a drastic change in terms of talent/who’s holding titles etc. however, but I’m sure slowly there will be a change, and a good one for that.

I ordered the Wrestlemania 30 DVD and the most recent Stone Cold Steve Austin DVD, which came through today. I know they’re both available on the Network but certain things, I have to have on DVD so I can keep them forever. Once I watch the SCSA DVD I’ll put up a review of that too.

Until the next one!
Zara
